Hanoi Social Club is an oasis in a quiet laneway in the heart of Hanoi, serving excellent coffee and tea, and hearty meals, including a wide range of vegetarian choices.
The decor at Hanoi Social Club is hardly cohesive. Mismatched couches, chairs, footstools and tables litter HSC’s three floors. Various message boards are covered in fliers for events around Hanoi. Abstract art, lanterns and streamers adorn the walls and hang from the ceiling. The eclectic mix of furniture, art and decorations remind visitors of a college house. It’s as if a group of people each had some items necessary to furnish Hanoi Social Club and pulled it all together to create what is one of the most popular spots in Hanoi for expats and travelers alike.
Breakfast is possibly the most popular meal at Hanoi Social Club. Breakfast options for foreigners in Hanoi can be limited unless you enjoy eating pho, a beef noodle soup, like the locals do for breakfast. Instead, come to Hanoi Social Club for poached eggs and morning glory on toast or avocado toast. Although Hanoi Social Club does not serve Vietnamese cuisine, you can still order a Vietnamese coffee with your breakfast! The breakfast menu can be ordered throughout the day.
The lunch and dinner choices are extremely varied. Options range from mango curry with brown rice to goulash or a healthy salad. There is something available for everyone, even those of you who are vegetarian or vegan. Additionally, Hanoi Social Club has a long list of beer, wine and unique cocktails, most notably the various flavors of tea-infused vodka cocktails.
Tiny Music Club
Every Tuesday night at 8:30 pm, head to the 3rd floor of Hanoi Social Club to sit on their partially-covered outdoor patio. Get there early if you want to find a seat; otherwise, find a spot on the floor cushions to listen to live music. A new band or solo artist plays every week so each week will feature a new genre of music. The staff are available for drink orders throughout the evening. Tiny Music Club at Hanoi Social Club is a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend your Tuesday evening with friends.
