“We ate here as our first meal at the start of our organised group (of 2) tour.
The location is lovely – a very nice, well kept French Colonial house.
The food was fresh and tasty. We had 7 different dishes in several ‘groupings’.
The wine list is extensive if a little expensive but then wine is in Vietnam (so we have found so far).
The pace was a little rushed with courses coming out before the last one was finished (my wife is a slow eater) – they started to stack up and had to be ‘protected’!
The fresh fruit at the end was a surprise – a whole banana each, to be peeled. Never had that before!
A better pace and something a bit more interesting than a banana to finish would have made it excellent rather than just very good.”
“We wanted to treat of local Ha Noi friends to something “special” for having us stay in their home for a few days – Indochine certainly did the job!
We were a group of 10 – 8 locals and two “outsiders”. We had an upstairs front room to ourselves with our own private wait staff. We chose a five course Viet menu and it scored very well.
Remember we were feeding locals – who eat this style every day – it had to be different and excellent to impress them – and it was.
We had a thick vegetable soup followed by green banana flower salad and crisp deep fried pork fillet with sweet and sour sauce (this really impressed our local friends)
Mains consisted of spicy beef in sesame, a pork and vegetable stir fry and a prawn stir fry plus an eggplant dish and fried rice. There were MASSIVE quantities and the food was cooked to perfection
We finished with a creme caramel
The service was impeccable – the ambiance – just divine
A HUGE thanks to Indochina Charm Travel for their help in making this farewell dinner happen!”
