“We ‘saved’ this site as a place to eat after reading the reviews here and it did not disappoint. It is a restaurant, but there are about 8 food stalls inside where the different dishes are prepared. We tried salted fish with rice balls, fish cakes wrapped around a sugar cane stick, snails with lemongrass, and shrimp pancake”
“We were fortunate to have a local who wanted us to experience what she considered the best food in Hanoi. We were not disappointed. Quan An Ngon lived up to the promise. We were seated promptly despite others appearing to be waiting and shown to an upstairs table. Before being seated we wandered around the food stalls downstairs and were introduced by our local contact to some of the different styles of food and the way in which they were prepared. With the help of our local contact we ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, with the waiting staff making some recommendations of their own. The staff also helped wrap our fresh spring rolls in rice paper at the table as we were struggling to do the task.
For what we paid the meal was generous, fresh and extremely tasty, probably the highlight of eating out at a restaurant while in Vietnam.”
