“Once upon a time the Tamarind Cafe may have been a fabulous vegetarian restaurant however it’s glory days are long gone and it is definitely not a vegetarian restaurant. Six members of my family ate there on Friday 13 March and of the several very disappointing dishes we ordered, two were totally inedible – in fact it was difficult to determine what the major ingredients of these two dishes were, one purported to be squid but from its texture and shape it was more likely to be pig rectum. The other dish was supposed to be pork – I find it difficult to describe the full horror of this ‘dish’ – it had some bones and it had some dry flaked substance that may have been meat. These two dishes were returned to the kitchen virtually untouched. We were offered a 10 percent discount but mostly we are hoping to forget this unpleasant experience as quickly as possible.”
